Merit Health Natchez is dedicated to helping people rebuild their lives after illness and injury. Our rehabilitation program is focused on self-care activities, mobility and communication skills for our patients. Team members will work with patients and family members to set and achieve realistic rehab goals. Constant evaluation is an important part of the rehab program and family participation is encouraged. Our commitment is to help patients achieve their maximum level of functioning.
Rehabilitation patients will receive a minimum of three hours of therapy a day, five days a week or 15 hours of therapy over a seven day time frame. Physical, occupational and speech therapy services are available Monday through Saturday. Your therapy program, including the frequency, intensity and duration of the program, will be individualized according to your needs.
Merit Health Natchez is currently unable to serve persons who have had a traumatic injury or non-traumatic condition resulting in complete paralysis of all limbs, spinal cord injury, severe burn victims, traumatic brain injury, those who are too early in their recovery to fully participate in therapy, those on ventilator support or persons under the age of 18. The rehabilitation team will suggest alternative placement when patients referred to the program do not qualify for admission services.
Medical diagnostic, laboratory and pharmacy services are located within Merit Health Natchez. The response time is specific to each of these services and to the type of service the physician has ordered. The majority of orders or consultations will receive some level of response no later than 24 hours from the time a department or medical consultative body receives an order. Results of any service or consultation will be discussed with you and your physician.
