Merit Health Natchez Names Employee and Managers of the Year

Highest Honors Given for 2023 Award Winners
NATCHEZ, MS-- Merit Health Natchez recently bestowed its highest honors to the 2023 employee and managers of the year – Tina Cole, surgical services, Employee of the Year; Brenda Moon, director of accounting, Non-Clinical Manager of the Year; and Anna Devening, director of surgical services, Clinical Manager of the Year.
“These award winners truly represent service and operational excellence in their delivery of great patient care. People who work in health care share the common desire to help others and make a difference in people’s lives. It’s a pleasure to recognize Tina, Brenda and Anna for all they do to provide a great environment of care for our patients and all of our providers,” said Kevin Samrow, CEO of Merit Health Natchez.
Tina Cole works as a sterile processing technician in our surgical services department. “Tina can be found in the hallways of surgery helping everyone get the day going,” said Anna Devening, director of surgical services. “From preparing ORs to moving patients to scrubbing into cases, she is always willing to go the extra mile. She is a tremendous asset and resource for both sterile processing and surgical technicians.”
Brenda Moon has served as the director of accounting for 26 years. According to Deena Keasler, chief financial officer of Merit Health Natchez, “Brenda’s strong work ethic and her willingness to help others with any projects assigned to her make her an outstanding director. She is meticulous in what she does and strives every day to be an example to those who work with her.”
As the director of surgical services, Anna Devening has proven to be a servant leader. She has the respect of her team, our surgeons and all other levels within the hospital and medical staff. “Anna is an excellent director and still uses her clinical skills to assist her team in cases,” said Al Velotta, chief nursing officer. “Anna’s attention to quality measures and customer service are impeccable. We are so grateful to have Anna as part of our hospital’s leadership team.”
